The retail franchise has seen one of its franchisees take over two stores in Paris.

Franchise Magazine (French) reported that Richard Privat, a franchisee, has become “the new franchisee of Cartridge World stores located in the 14th and 15th arrondissements”, and that “as a result, more than 100 franchisees now operate in France”. Privat has been charge of a Cartridge World store in the eighth arrondissement for “four years”, and has now become a “multi-franchisee by taking over two additional stores”.

The two new franchises are on 35 rue Raymond Losserand in the 14th arrondissement and 272 rue Lecourbe in the 15th arrondissement, with Privat’s existing store at 43 Hard Rock Paris Street in the eight arrondissement. The site added that Cartridge World now has “three stores” in which to “offer a wide range of printers [and] consumables, as well as customised printing solutions, with the 14th arrondissement shop also offering “a range of printers and 3D consumables as well as the printing of 3D objects”.

11 new stores were opened in France overall in 2014, while four existing stores also signed new agreements; with The Recycler reporting that nine stores had been opened in the first eight months of the year, including a new store in rue de Rivoli, Paris and stores in Moulins, Nevers and Rennes. In January 2015, it was confirmed that 15 new agreements had been signed for 2014, while last year the franchise reported it wanted to open 12 new stores in France.

In March 2015, the franchise revealed new store branding, adding in April that it was considering entering 3D printing. In October 2015, it opened a new headquarters in Paris, and in November won franchise awards, and grew its 3D printer offerings as well. Last November, Cartridge World UK and Ireland acquired the master franchise rights for France, Spain and Portugal, effective from 1 December, with CEO Paul Callow and COO David Almand now in charge of around 200 stores, with a combined revenue of around €30 million ($31.9 million).
