Feb 14, 2017

The OEM’s subsidiary stated that the “new compact” machines “bring affordability and simplicity”.

In a press release, Ricoh USA stated that the printers are aimed at “multiple business environments”, with the new release including the SP 377DNwX and SP 325DNw single-functions and the SP 377SFNwX and SP 3255FNw MFPs. The OEM added that the monochrome laser machines are “designed to empower users to produce quality output quickly and easily”, and boast “compact size, high print quality and a low total cost of ownership”.

In turn, it noted that the printers and MFPs “are an economical solution that helps meet the unique document imaging and information sharing needs of small businesses and workgroups”. The two series are also said to “provide excellent print quality and speed in a small footprint”, with the A4 ranges reaching speeds of 30ppm at a resolution of 1,200 x 1,200dpi. Other features include 360MHz print controllers, 128MB memory and an automatic reversing document feeder (ARDF).

The MFP range us also said to “offer an unmatched cost per page that is nearly 50 percent less than the competition on average”, with larger “starter and replacement cartridges” offering a yield of 6,400 pages, “more than double that of the closest competitor”. The single-functions meanwhile “come at a low upfront cost” and are aimed at “lower volume environments”.

Other functionality available with the machines include a “streamlined, straightforward operation panel” as well as WiFi Direct printing “from many device types”, Energy Star certification and near-field communication (NFC). The SP 377DNwX is available for $195 (€183), the 377SFNwX for $365 (€343), the 325DNw for $169 (€159) and the 325SFNw for $305 (€287).

John Brophy, Vice President of Product Marketing at Ricoh USA, commented: “In modern, fast-paced business environments, workers expect to be able to quickly and easily print, copy or scan – the less steps, the better. That’s why the Ricoh SP 377 and SP 325 series were designed with one major mandate: simplicity. We wanted to make sure that no matter who needs to print, or what device they need to print from, they can do so without delays. That helps keep businesses running smoothly.”
