Cipher launches new chips

The company has launched a range of OKI chips, and is preparing to release more in future.

Cipher stated that it has launched toner and drum chips for the OKI ES7131 and 7170 printers, with respective yields of 36,000 pages and 72,000 pages for the two monochrome chips. Another launch was toner and drum chips for the OKI ES8453 and 8473 printers, with yields of 15,000 pages and 10,000 pages for the colour toner chips and 30,000 pages for the drum.

One final OKI release were toner and drum chips for the MC853 and 873, with yields of 7,000 pages and 7,300 pages as well as 15,000 pages and 10,000 pages for the colour toner cartridge chips, and a yield of 30,000 pages for the drum chip. Cipher added that “we are currently receiving field test results from our partners in order to find out if there are any issues”, and “would like to let people know that we are providing free samples to those who want to test it”.

Those interested can contact the company at sales@cipheret.com for samples, while “some of the new products” that the company is “preparing right now” include chips for: the OKI C823; C833; C843; C712; C612; C532; C542; MC563 and ES9455; and the Kyocera TK-1150; 3160 and 5240. Cipher added that “these chips are expected to be released by late March or early April”.

The company concluded by noting: “Our R&D reported that some of the chips are using new encryption methods which makes hard for us to develop. This is taking up time for our engineers as they need to get used to the change in technology. Regardless, we are positive that we will be able to find the solution.”
