Cartridge Network’s Griffin Hampson stated that remanufactured cartridges can “reduce your page cost by 50 percent”.
Portland Tribune hosted the article from Hampson, who stated that “many businesses and consumers are unaware how inkjet and colour laser printers work”, and that “colour goes into making black, ‘blacker’ and black contributes to making colour ‘more colourful’”, so businesses and consumers “using colour-capable printers for printing emails, memos, or invoices” will see “their cost per page [be] three to eight times more expensive than using a black laser printer”.
Hampson recommends that “instead of only having a single colour [MFP]/copier, also having a black-only [MFP]/copier and another separate colour printer” can save five US cents to 15 US cents per page (four euro cents to 14 euro cents), leaving the “black-only laser printer to handle the 70 percent to 90 percent of your printing which is black-only, greatly reducing your costs”.
He also notes that “of course using high yield instead of standard low-yield cartridges reduces the per-page cost by 30 percent to 40 percent”, and “quality factory-remanufactured or compatible cartridges can further reduce your page cost by 50 percent”. Hampson’s perspective is that “businesses and consumers routinely make the mistake of purchasing a printer which is ‘on-sale’ at a big office store or discounter only because it was ‘on sale’.
“Typically those models have much higher cost per page cartridges. Use a knowledgeable vendor to help you identify your specific needs and explore the alternatives. ‘Price shoppers’, particularly those using online sites, frequently report to us that they ‘really didn’t understand the key differences and consequently had unpleasant performance issues’. As your trusted vendor, we make sure you get the highest yield and lowest cost per page cartridges for your printers”.
