The OEM announced that Hideo Tanimoto has been promoted to President of the company.
India.com reported that the post will be effective from 1 April, and that there was a “unanimous vote” from the board of directors. Tanimoto, Director and Managing Executive Officer, will take over from Goro Yamaguchi, who will take on the post as Chairman and Representative Director. Tanimoto has been with the company for 35 years, and has influenced “developing innovative new materials and manufacturing processes as an engineer” in the ceramic components sector, having been made General Manager of the Ceramics Group in 2014, and joined the board two years later.
Yamaguchi said in a statement: “Today, Kyocera supplies a diverse range of products, from semiconductor components and electronic devices to solar modules, document equipment and mobile phones. At our core is the fine ceramic components business, which has continued to grow in step since the company’s founding in 1959. Tanimoto will bring best practices from that pioneering division and implement fresh ideas to help maximize profits for all Kyocera business units.”
Tanimoto said that he “aims to maximise group synergies by strengthening horizontal linkages among the Kyocera Group’s diverse business segments”, and that this will “further expand sales while nurturing Kyocera’s corporate culture”. He added that “personal priorities include never forgetting his gratitude toward others and always remaining humble”.
