The OEM’s SureColor SC-S eco-solvent devices were “ranked number one” in their class.
In a press release, the OEM stated that it was “very pleased to announce” the wide-format range was the “top selling eco-solvent technology in its class in Western Europe”, after “independent research conducted by Infosource” found that the OEM “grew market share” from fifth place and nine percent in 2015 to 28.4 percent by the end of last year.
This follows the release of the 64-inch machines at the start of last year, including the SureColor SC-S80600, SC-S60600 and SC-S40600, which offered four to 10 colours among other features and utilised Epson’s PrecisionCore TFP printheads for 1,400 x 1,400dpi output. Epson added that “since launch these printers have generated considerable interest from companies looking for technology that delivers quality, productivity, flexibility, ease of use and rapid ROI in one complete package”.
Marc Tinkler, Head of Product Marketing for Professional Printing Solutions at Epson Europe, commented: “We are delighted that the SureColor SC-S has become the market leader in Europe so quickly. We are fully committed to the ongoing development of our wide-format SureColor printers, and this proves that our technology meets the stringent demands of print service providers in busy production environments.
“Backed by considerable investment in R&D Epson’s strategy is to become the world’s leading supplier of inkjet printers regardless of the market and our aim is to provide the best combination of printer and ink technology to deliver high quality, superb reliability and the best all-round return on investment for the broadest range of professional print applications.”
