Canon discusses business printing

Mar 28, 2017

The OEM recommended five printing functions to save businesses money and time.

Canon discussed new technology and how new features and functions incorporated in printers can improve “employee workflow” as well as costs and time. The article gave five printing functions that can assist businesses, and the first of these was cloud storage, which stores print jobs and “give[s] employees quick easy access to files” that are repeatedly required, such as “fax cover sheets, expense reports and invoices”, which would free up employees to do other jobs.

Secondly, using better ink means no smudging and therefore no wastage, and the OEM recommends its own MAXIFY line for sharp text and no smudging, as well as maximising ink usage, saving costs on cartridges. Printers that have an ENERGY STAR certificate have power-saving features, and this is the third feature for saving costs, as well as being good for the environment, and includes automatic shutdown if left idle for too long.

Fourthly, a printer with faster speeds means that employees are not standing around for long periods waiting for printing to finish. New models have the capability to print large documents, which can help with deadlines, and again the Canon MAXIFY small business printer fits the bill, and has fast printout speeds of up to 24 black and 15 colour images per minute, as well as “rapid multi-page copying”.

Finally, Canon said that having an efficient printer alone will not save money unless employees are trained to use it efficiently, and professional trainers from manufacturers like Canon can train employees on how to use the printer productively.
