HP Inc has launched the subscription service in Ireland which is said to save consumers 70 percent and prevent them from running out of ink.
Irish Tech News reported that the OEMs printing service could save users €564 ($607) a year on the cost of cartridges and will see an end to running out of ink as when they are running low Instant Ink reorders a replacement cartridge which arrives in the post.
The monthly subscription is based on how many pages are printed in a month and in Ireland these are €2.99 ($3.22) for 50 pages, €4.99 ($5.37) for 100 pages and €9.99 ($10.76) for 300 pages.
Instant Ink requires consumers to have a compatible printer and the cost of the ink and postage is included in the monthly price plan and HP also send postage free envelopes for the return of used cartridges that will be recycled as part of the HP Planet Partners Programme.
Gary Tierney, Managing Director, HP Ireland, said: “At HP, we’re continually reinventing our products and services to meet the evolving needs of customers and deliver technology that makes life better for everyone. Taking this approach to consumer printing, HP has developed a service that reinvents home printing and can reduce customer costs by hundreds of Euros.”
On pricing Tierney said: “The three-tier subscription model means there will be a plan to suit most customer printing needs, regardless of whether they are a light or heavy print user. HP Instant Ink will ensure that customers in Ireland will never run out of ink again, whilst making significant cost savings and not compromising on quality of ink. It’s an all round win win.”
