Ricoh Canada releases Serverless print solutions

May 9, 2017

The OEM announced an innovative new development to print management.

Yahoo Finance reported that the new solution has a different approach to the usual print strategies and focuses on the “benefits and savings to businesses” that are using local print servers to “distribute print traffic”.

The Serverless Print Solution uses a single server to manage print drivers, queues and policies even for big businesses with more efficiency and benefits such as cost savings across the board because of the direct “relationship between device and printer”.

According to the report there is a reduction in “network-wide print traffic” and Serverless Print Solutions “drive substantial IT efficiencies in terms of available bandwidth increases” which is estimated to save over $6,000 (€5,480) per unit.

Eric Fletcher, Vice President, Marketing, Ricoh, said: “In addition to clear cost savings and measurable efficiencies in IT, our Serverless Print Solutions also provide customers with powerful reporting features. With more than 100 web-based reports available, administrators can, for example, identify underutilized devices and quickly right-size their fleets – further managing hard costs.”
