The company was named in the “100 Best Corporate Citizens List”.
Xerox made the announcement in a press release and said that this was the ninth year running it had been named on the list by the magazine Corporate Responsibility a leading magazine in North America that analyses best practices and looks at CSR trends.
The magazine honoured Xerox for its environmental programmes and for its creative work places that are inclusive and it’s practical and strong communities that house its employees and customers. There are seven categories in the magazines list which are “environment; climate change; employee relations, human rights; corporate governance; financial performance; philanthropy and community support” and those companies on the list “deliver on their commitments to transparency and accountability in highly competitive industries,” according to the magazine.
Xerox Green World Alliance is a programme for recycling cartridges and so far has kept more than 145 million pounds of waste out of landfills. The company also participates in Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) which monitors labour, health and safety and Xerox also has a Philanthropy Programme which focusses on “employee driven volunteer efforts” on community projects including STEM, science, technology, engineering and math education and career path for women and minorities.
