The Pocketjet PJ-773 won the iF Design Award 2017.

Brother announced the news in a press release and said that it was honoured to win the Product Design category. Brothers subsidiary company, Brother Mobile Solutions (BMS) also had two portable industrial label printers honoured in the awards.

The awards are judged and hosted by iF-International Forum Design in Hannover Germany and are known as “one of the most prestigious design competitions having run since 1953. The judging is done on the principles of “design, functionality and environmental performance”

This year 59 countries took part with more than 5,500 submissions and this was the 10th year running that Brother Industries Ltd has been named as winners adding to six other awards won this year.

David Crist, President, BMS, said: “We are deeply gratified to be honoured by the iF International Forum for our groundbreaking PocketJet 773 full-page mobile printer. We believed the 773 model would be a breakthrough when we released it in late 2016. It was engineered to offer new levels of freedom to mobile workers spanning any industry by printing virtually anywhere and from virtually any device, right out of the box, without special apps or drivers.”
