Check out our newest remanufacturing guide

Jun 27, 2017

Inside you will find step-by-step instructions on how to remanufacture the Okidata B431 toner cartridge.

Okidata’s B431 series of monochrome laser printer was first released in January 2014. They are based on a 35-40ppm (usually black) 1200dpi engine, with a standard installed memory of 64MB, which can be increased to 320MB. The first page should print out in under 5 seconds.

It comes with a separate toner cartridge that locks into the drum unit. Remanufacturers should bear in mind before embarking on the process that the drum units in this model are rather complicated.

There are 2 types of toner cartridges used in the Okidata B431 series. The STD Toner is rated for 4, 000 pages while the HY Toner is rated for 10, 000 pages. The printer’s drum unit is rated for 30, 000 pages.

This handy guide, compiled by Mike Josiah and the Technical Staff at Uninet, gives you detailed step-by-step instructions on remanufacturing the toner cartridge to ensure you go through the process accurately, with a clear understanding of where the components fit.

The Recycler previously launched the Online Magazines and Guides page, where you can download or view all remanufacturing guides or wide-format quarterlies. The first guide this year was for the HP Inc LaserJet Pro M26 toner cartridge, and the second was for the HP Inc M102 drum cartridge. In 2016, guides were released for the HP Inc LaserJet Pro M102; Samsung Xpress M3015DW MLT-D118S; ProXpress M3080/M4080; ProXpress M4580; Xerox Phaser 3020 toner cartridge; HP Inc Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M476 black and colour toner cartridges; Brother HL-L6200 series drum cartridge (DR820); HL-L6200; and Lexmark C925.
