Voladd launches a Kickstarter campaign in a bid to bring the company’s fully integrated 3D printer to mass production.
Voladd is launching a campaign via Kickstarter to bring their unique fully integrated 3D printer to mass production, setting a funding goal of $30, 000. The printer “includes a cloud platform and content that are all unified and integrated”, enabling users to gain access to thousands of objects on the Voladd Cloud and print what they want with a single click. There is no need to install any software or download STL files.
“Ever since you were a kid, you’ve always wanted to be a creator; to be able to hold in your hand the things that you’ve always imagined,” said Vice President of Marketing Miguel Ibarburu. “And now, with Voladd, you can finally create the objects you’ve always dreamed of. When you want, in real time, and in the easiest way ever created.”
The 3D printer “will also manage consumables for users with NFC technology, and includes innovative technology of varying diameter cartridges”; while more advanced consumers can make new creations by connecting Voladd with IoT robots or devices, using the printer’s MQTT protocol.
Voladd’s unique printer “features an advanced electronic system governed by the prestigious BeagleBone Black open source minicomputer and the Linux Debian operating system with a real-time kernel”.
The head of the printer has a dynamic airflow system which cools the plastic and helps save on energy consumption. It’s cartridges are made using “biodegradable, recyclable, and plant-based PLA bioplastic”; they are entirely recyclable and if users give five cartridges back to Voladd they will get a new complimentary cartridge in return.
