The OEM plans to open a new office in Cebu in response to growing demand as it is revealed that the Philippines is Brother’s second biggest market in Southeast Asia.

A new business article by SunStar reports on the expansion of Brother Philippines in Cebu, where the company will be opening a new office to cater to increased demand. The article reveals that “continued growth of businesses in the Philippines has fuelled the growth” of the Japanese print maker, prompting Takao Shima, managing director for Asean operations, to comment that Brother Philippines is the second biggest market for the OEM in the region.

“Your country is growing. There is so much potential for growth expansion here,” he said during the opening of the company’s latest service centre on 5 November 2017.

Meanwhile the president of Brother Philippines, Glen Hocson, has explained that, while the retail market “remains a prime growth driver”, steady growth among corporate and small and medium businesses has “also provided a steady growth in sales”.

“We are now a very significant part of the Brother’s market. Our expansion in Cebu signifies our confidence in Cebu’s economy, with businesses continuously expanding. We expect this office to cater to the sales and after sales services and marketing efforts for Cebu and the Visayas,” said Hocson.

“Brother Philippines has been operating in Cebu for years now and business has been doing well,” he continued.

According to Hocson, Brother’s future “remains rosy” and he described the OEM’s product innovations such as its multifunctional printers, some of which have “added features”, as well as the new free mobile app Brother has launched. He revealed that Brother “sells at least 100, 000 printers annually.”

“We have been evolving our printing business to cater to the new requiremets of companies and even the younger generation, who are becoming more digitally-inclined,” he said.
