Ricoh Asia Pacific receives sustainability award

This week Ricoh Asia Pacific received the Singapore Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards from Global Compact Network Singapore.

This award has been presented to Ricoh Asia Pacific in recognition of the company’s demonstration of “excellence sustainability” in the Sustainable Business Category. Ricoh Asia Pacific said that it was “honoured and proud” to be the first Japanese Multinational Corporation in the Office Imaging Equipment and Solution Industry to receive this Corporate Sustainability accolade in Singapore.

The awards ceremony took place on 8 November 2017 and was attended by Singapore’s Minister for Finance, Mr Heng Swee Keat.

Mr. Kazuhisa Goto, Managing Director of Ricoh Asia Pacific, commented: “The Ricoh Way represents our values, and act as the fundamental approach in the area of our business planning, quality assurance and corporate social responsibility. Where we are today will never be made possible without the hard work of our team and active participation of all stakeholder. We will continue to humble ourselves with a constant learning attitude, keep up with our current achievements and strive for the better to continue bringing values to people and the society.”  

For years Ricoh Asia Pacific has made its commitment to environmentally sustainable practices clear, introducing the Eco Office concept in 2004 and pioneering and organising Singapore’s annual Eco Action Day campaign since 2007. This year the OEM also launched the Eco Action Day Youth Challenge and Industry Roundtable, while on a global basis, the Ricoh Group has “established five materiality issues” including Enhancement Zero-Carbon Society and Circular Economy.

Ricoh states that it will “set realistic targets based on these issues and reinforce the initiatives through its business to enhance a sustainable society.”
