The Illinois-based mobile phone company’s newest Moto Mod allows users to print photos on the go.
Moto Z has unveiled its latest Moto Mod mobile accessory, the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer, which allows users to instantly print small photos directly from their phone camera, as well as from social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Google Photos.
The compact accessory gives users to ability to keep a photo printer on them at all times, and the special paper that it uses – Zink Zero-Ink Paper – means images are smudge-proof, as well as meaning there are no ink cartridges to be refilled.
The images printed by the mod are two inches by three inches, and also come with an adhesive backing, allowing them to be used as stickers. Users also have the option to edit photos to include different borders from within the app.
The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer is the latest addition to Motorola’s range of Moto Mods, which provide additional features and functionality to the Moto Z line of phones, operating by using the phone as the primary hardware. The mods connect to the back of the phone using a series of contact points, held in place magnetically.
Since the initial release of the Moto Z line in 2016, Motorola has partnered with a range of companies to produce more than a dozen different mods, including speakers, cameras, and battery back-ups.
The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer will be priced at $200 (€170). Zink Zero-Ink Paper will be sold separately.
