The OEM’s commitment to certification and sustainability has helped it scoop the prize.
Staples has been awarded the Forest Stewardship Council’s Leadership Award. The OEM has been recognised for its commitment to providing FSC-certified products to its customers, as well as for helping family woodland owners attain FSC certification.
The Massachusetts-based company offers over 500 FSC-certified products in the copy, printing and speciality papers category alone, and has sold more than 16.4 million units of the products across all paper-based categories since the start of 2017.
Mark Buckley, Staples’ vice president for sustainability, said: “We’re very proud to have been recognized by the FSC and look forward to continuing to innovate in the sustainability space. Staples’ dedication to the environment aligns with our strategy of putting our customers first, and providing them with sustainable product offerings that help businesses of all sizes run more responsibly.”
The award celebrates the dedication and commitment to reforestation which the company developed after partnering with the Dogwood Alliance, an environmental NGO promoting sustainable forestry, with Staples and the Alliance developing an “uncommon collaborative.”
